Position Summary:
The Nutrition Assistant is responsible for processing meal orders, monitoring diet orders for appropriate menu modification and accuracy of patient trays, visiting patients, delivery and pick-up of patient meal trays. This position works as a team member with Nursing staff, Doctors, Clinical Dietitians, Dietetic Technicians and other department staff to provide optimal nutrition care for patients. Work situations are a variety of consistent and routine functions which require organization, attention to detail and the ability to handle high-pressure situations.
Minimum Requirements:
1 year food service experience required
1 year of experience in a direct patient care setting can replace the 1 year of food service experience at the discretion of the hiring supervisor
2 year degree in a nutrition related field can replace the 1 year of food service experience
6 months of experience in a customer service-oriented position preferred
Education/Licenses/Certifications:
High School Graduate or equivalent preferred
State of Washington Food Handler’s Card within 7 days of hire
