Maintenance Technician

JOB SUMMARY

Jenson Capital is seeking a talented Maintenance Technician to add to our growing team. The Maintenance Technician will be responsible for assisting with general and preventative maintenance services, including work orders, unit turns, and upkeep of all common areas and grounds. ESSENTIAL DUTIES

• Perform routine maintenance around the building such as fixing structural damage, windows, doors or wall repair
• Complete plumbing related tasks such as leaky faucets, plunging toilets, repair tanks, caulking, and replacement when necessary.
• Complete electrical related tasks such as installing light fixtures and switches, cord splicing, ballasts and bulbs, circuit breakers, servicing exhaust fans, exterior lighting and other as needed. Repair damaged electrical wiring when a shortage or severed wire occurs
• Maintain building HVAC equipment to keep climate control in the facility functioning properly
• Complete carpentry related tasks such as fixing drywall, changing closet rods, replacing mirrors, installing drawer, replacing doors.
• Complete key tasks such as replacing locks, installing locks and bolts. Make keys and install latches.
• Address and mitigate potential safety hazards to avoid injuries
• Inspect buildings, equipment and appliances for functionality, checking for faults and fixing them where they exist to keep all things running and functioning properly; make provision for replacement of old and damaged appliances
• Clean and prep vacated buildings and rooms, getting them ready for new occupants to move in – painting, installations, drywall repairs, appliance replacement and so on to make the unit market ready
• Complete routine preventative maintenance work on site for exterior, interior and units (such as appliances, HVAC filters and so on)
• Maintain inventory of equipment, supplies, tools and other property/company owned equipment.

• Strong sense of customer service showcasing the company’s service excellence (courteousness, follow up on issues, caring about our tenants)
• Serve as the senior technician onsite responsible for completing complex tasks and troubleshooting along with other technicians as a training and development opportunity for them.
• May need to perform pool or other amenity maintenance. May also need to assist in light porter work to maintain property appearance.
• This position requires working a weekend day a week as well as after-hours on-call rotation.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

• High school diploma or GED; or equivalent
• Prior experience as an apartment maintenance technician or in a similar role
• HVAC, CMRP, or equivalent certification will be advantageous
• Familiarity with OSHA standards and safety standards
• Ability to stand for extended periods
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds without assistance
• Dexterity and attention to detail
• Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills
• Familiarity with Appfolio is a plus!

SKILLS & ABILITIES

• 3+ years of maintenance experience in multifamily
• Strong knowledge of appliance repairs, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, carpentry, painting and drywall
• Ability to perform general building, plumbing, electrical, painting, and drywall repairs as needed
• Attention to detail to ensure that all jobs are completed in an exemplary manner and any potential hazards or warning signs of problems are not overlooked
• Strong Organizational skills
• Fluent in English and Spanish
• Must have a valid driver’s license
